Flora McCabe
Head of Healthcare Claims

Flora is a ten year qualified lawyer. Having read History at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge University, she went on to study the Graduate Diploma in Law and the Legal Practice Course thereafter. She then trained, qualified and worked at Eversheds, which included 6 months in their Paris office undertaking International Arbitration. She then went to Mills and Reeve's insurance team for 7 years where she specialised in defending corporate and individual healthcare clients – predominantly against medical malpractice and regulatory claims and complaints but also EL and PL claims. She joined Lockton in June this year in order to provide all our healthcare clients with access to a medico-legal perspective on existing liabilities and claims, ultimately in order to help to reduce our clients' risk profile and to provide assistance with swift resolution of complaints. Flora helps clients ranging from individual consultants to the largest out of hours provider in the UK to alternative health practitioners to private clinics to NHS Trusts with various claims-related issues including serious incident report reviews, challenging reserves, identifying lessons to be learnt, response letters, training and workshops and being a general port of call for  clients who simply wish to chat certain claims through.
